JAMES mirej POLAK

James is a Legal Assistant and Office Administrator with Beamish Law.

Before starting at Beamish Law, James worked in different capacities at various legal aid clinics across the Greater Toronto Area, including Scarborough Community Legal Services, West Toronto Community Legal Services, and Neighbourhood Legal Services. His usual area of clinic law was social assistance, where he would represent clients appealing their Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) benefits before the Social Benefits Tribunal. 

James also has experience running legal education workshops for both community members and service providers on social assistance and trans-rights related matters, such as legislation around provincial and federal identity documents.

Education

James is a licensed paralegal, graduating from George Brown College in 2022. 

Personal

James has a pet dove named Pepper who keeps a close eye on his legal work. He enjoys exploring the city, swimming laps, and trying new things.
